What's a "Musicianary"?!
Country Music News described Roger Cooper as a musical "minstrel", an artist who shares not only his music...but is life with an audience. CCM Magazine stated it best by calling him a "Musicianary", a musician on a mission!
FUN, INSPIRATIONAL and HEART-TOUCHING are the words which describe a Roger Cooper performance.
"Armed" with just a guitar, he immediately "captures" an audience with his infectious personality, warm, personal (and oftentimes funny) stories, his distinct voice and his guitar. He then proceeds to take his audience on a musical and inspirational journey, incorporating music styles from classic rock to country and from Gospel music to his own personal "heart-songs" in a unique blend which draws everyone into the show.
Playing familiar classic hits from the 60's and 70's such as American Pie, Happy Together, Mr. Bojangles, Cat's in The Cradle, I'm A Believer and Old time Rock and Roll to contemporary favorites like I Can Only Imagine, If Nobody Believes In You, Don't Laugh At Me, Little Girl, Live Like You Were Dying, Don't Blink, plus some of his own original tunes, he shares not only his music...but his life with an audience!
Throughout his 40 year career, he's performed in hundreds of concerts, for schools, youth groups, fairs, rodeos, churches and many other venues. He moved to Nashville for some time where he continued to record and tour, was a session player, studio vocalist and a songwriter.
With 18 albums to his credit and his 30 year compilation of songs entitled "Three Decades Later", he has written and recorded numerous hit songs, toured the globe and worked with some of country, gospel and pop music's biggest stars such as George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, Rascal Flatts, Kenny Chesney, Michael W Smith, Amy Grant and many, many others.
His latest and very rewarding enterprise however, has been writing and releasing the best-selling book entitled THE SIMPLE LIFE; a down to earth, practical, and inspirational view of "intentional simplicity"; plus he is in constant demand presenting his "Simple Life" seminars.
Even with all his impressive credits and while he maintains a hectic schedule with concerts and presentations, Roger has always desired to be known as a "light"...rather than a "star"!
That's why he continues to maintain a low profile and prefers the moon-light of a clear Western Kansas sky over the stage lights of a concert auditorium...and he still proudly considers himself to be a "home-grown country boy" from Kansas!!
